Our Story
BigHearts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children, one child at a time, to grow up and be a loving individual and a responsible citizen in their community. Our foundation's main purpose is to help put smiles on children's faces, especially children who have lost a parent or both.
BigHearts is a Christian-based foundation, we share the love of God with the young ones we serve and tell them about the goodness of God. We cheer up children by providing them with gifts and school supplies. We let children know that though they have lost their parents, we care about them and want to give them all the love and emotional support. We will be there to listen to these kids, advising them, and sharing their concerns and issues.
Events we host will provide young people with school supplies, birthday presents, Christmas presents, and any needed supplies BigHearts can afford. Our organization will encourage children, especially girls, to pursue education. We supplement educational encouragement by ensuring boys and girls have school supplies, clothing, shoes, and anything else they need for school.
BigHearts provides counseling and encouragement to children, keep them engage in God's word, and express the love of God to them. We particularly want orphans to know that someone cares about them even though they have lost their parents. Putting smiles on their faces, one child at a time, is what we love to do.
Our founder Maame Sefa Akumatey has been putting smiles on children's faces for years. In 2020, she decided to ask friends to join her in making BigHearts a public foundation. As a charitable organization, we focus on impacting children's lives through kind gestures, love, and empathy by the Grace of God.
BigHearts Foundation carries out its mission with programs like SePat's Children's Birthday Accolades, SePat's Easter Bunny Celebration, SePat's Miracles at Christmas, BigHearts School Supplies Program, and BigHearts talk @ talk. The SePat's girl child empowerment program teaches young ladies how to be confident, have self-esteem, and know their worth without looking in a mirror.
